πŸ’œ Cultivating A Music Community On Polygon

Polygon, A highly scalable L2 solution built on Ethereum, launched "Everything Music #onPolygon" on 9th June 2023. The goal was to create and promote a web3 music community on Polygon with a gamified approach with Mercle's credentialing infrastructure. This case study evaluates the impact of the festival on the growth of participating dApps built on Polygon.

🎡 The Music Festival & Role of Mercle’s NFTs

Involving 9+ dApps, 23 artists, and 10+ supporting partners, the festival served as a platform for promoting dApps oriented towards the future of the music industry within the Polygon Ecosystem. We saw demos of decentralized music production, on-chain rights tracking & royalty payments, direct artist-to-fan communities, DIY developer tools & SDKs!

At the heart of the festival were the Dynamic NFTs, built on Mercle's credentialing infrastructure. These NFTs transformed user participation into a gamified experience, recording every unique contribution and storing this data on-chain. This systematic recording allowed for an on-chain proof-of-work reward system. As users participated more in the mini-events of the festival, their NFTs upgraded, reflecting the growing status of the membership token. This mechanism facilitated an increased level of user activity throughout the event.

Thus bringing more and continuous light to the dApps built #onPolygon.

πŸ”₯ The Impact of The Festival

πŸ“ˆ Social Growth Of Participating dApps

This data suggests that the festival's dynamic NFT launch and the implementation of a gamified engagement strategy effectively boosted user attraction and retention.

πŸ’¬ Increase in DAU

In addition to social growth, the festival also drove increased traffic to the dApps’ websites. On average, each dApp experienced a 80% increase in website visits during the festival.

Indeed, the positive outcomes from the festival highlight the effectiveness of such initiatives by L2 solutions like Polygon in promoting their ecosystem's dApps. R3vl shared that their favourite part was the demo session of their dApp in front of live audience of 200+ members! This strategy seems to have successfully increased the adoption of Polygon's now endlessly scalable chain.
